I’ve always believed that paying attention is one of the greatest gifts we can cultivate. Wandering centuries-old streets becomes more meaningful when you understand who walked them before you. Planting a flower is more fulfilling when you’ve watched honeybees return to it day after day. I find joy in thinking deeply, noticing what others might overlook, and discovering the beauty woven into history, craftsmanship, nature, and art.
These experiences have shaped both who I am and the way I approach executive partnership. They have cultivated the qualities I bring to every leader I support: curiosity, patience, attention to detail, thoughtful preparation, and a genuine desire to leave people and organizations better than I found them.
My Way of Thinking
One thing I will always do is to keep learning. Long before I began partnering with executive leaders, my passion was history, classical civilizations, art, and architecture. Soon that led me to study History, Classics, Latin, and Ancient Greek, where I graduated summa cum laude while balancing full-time work and caring for my disabled mother.
These interests became the lens through which I viewed the world and the foundation of how I would approach my work. Years studying the history, literature, and philosophy of the ancient world taught me how to think critically, explore ethics and be the author of my own happiness.
The Greeks and Romans taught that a well-ordered life, focused on virtue, wisdom, and cultivating meaningful human connections, away from the chaos and noise, holds far greater value than public acclaim or visibility. In other words, that true excellence often operates invisibly.
That philosophy guides how I support executive leaders today. My best work often goes unseen, just as it should be. My greatest successes are when every contingency plan ensures smooth operations and outcomes are protected.
The Art of Home
I have always struggled with the concepts of ‘taking it easy’ and ‘sitting still’. I’m energized by accomplishment. Whether arranging bud vases or laying a tablescape for a tea party, home design is both art and self expression. I surround myself with books, maps, and curios that I have mindfully curated over time. Individually these pieces seem eclectic but together they create a space of inspiration and creativity.
That mindset naturally extends into my career. Whether preparing for a Board meeting, coordinating an executive offsite, or arranging a team game-night, I’ve always believed the best experiences don’t happen by accident- they’re thoughtfully designed. Creating environments where others can feel both included and inspired is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Growing Things
I see gardening as an act of stewardship. Every rose, zinnia, hydrangea, and native perennial is planted with purpose to nourish bees and butterflies, welcome hummingbirds, feed the local New Jersey goldfinches, and create small ecosystems where life can flourish. There’s something deeply rewarding about watching a garden become more than a collection of color; it becomes a place where creation works together in beautiful harmony.
Tending to a garden also provides balance to the fast pace of executive support. It invites me to slow down (despite my inclination toward busyness), be present, and appreciate that the most meaningful things in life are often cultivated over time. The garden continually reminds me that with care, patience, and faithful stewardship, small investments can grow into something far greater than we can imagine.
Cultivating What Matters
I find joy in helping others thrive. This instinct shapes both my personal life and my career.
As an Executive Assistant, my role has never been simply managing calendars, logging expenses, or booking travel. To me, it’s about partnership: understanding what my leaders and team need, anticipating challenges before they arise, and creating the conditions that allow them all to do their best work.
At home, that same instinct finds a different expression.
Lady the Great Pyrenees reminds me daily that joy is contagious and to smile through every situation. James the Orange Tabby reminds me to slow down, be still, and appreciate the quiet. Together, they’ve reinforced something I try to bring into every area of my life: caring well isn’t about grand gestures, it’s about consistency- consistently being thoughtful, thinking meaningfully, paying attention, and investing in the well-being of every life I touch.
What Inspires Me

Old Sections of European Cities: I deeply appreciate the blend of old and new architecture throughout Europe, especially in (Bremen) Germany, as well as their outdoor eating and their allowance of dogs inside retail establishments
British Murder Mysteries: Whether Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, or the latest series on Britbox, I never tire of a proper mystery, especially if set in the Cotswolds; stepping over the threshold of 221B Baker Street was a bucket list moment
Viking Heritage: As a third-generation Norwegian immigrant, I began visiting Norway when I was 8 months old; standing upon Utsikten (the view), where over 1,000 years of my family has roots traced to this fjord, was both breathtaking and emotional
Bronx Bombers: From the moment I watched The Sandlot at 7 years old, I was a die-hard Yankees fan (to the chagrin of my Mets-loving family); few things can bring a tear to my eyes as swiftly as a nostalgic montage to Bernie Williams, Andy Pettitte or Mariano Rivera
Hamper Heaven: Perhaps driven by a childhood love for the 100 Acre Woods and the tales of Christopher Robin, I find the idea of picnicing in the cotswolds to be highly idyllic; Fortnum & Mason couples my deep-seated love for picnics with incredible artisans, luxury, tradition and craftsmanship that I fully appreciate
Not that long ago in a state not that far away…. I was blown away by the immersion at Galaxy’s Edge into the Star Wars fandom, one of many I dabble into; and hopefully one day, with my deep love for all things Lord of the Rings, I will walk through the gardens of the Shire
